What does Jeremiah 8:20 mean?
This is a cry of despair from people who've watched time slip away while waiting for God's intervention. The image of a missed harvest captures that sinking feeling when a season of opportunity closes and nothing has changed, nothing has been made right. Jeremiah is voicing the people's anguish during Judah's crisis, when they'd hoped God would rescue them but instead faced judgment for turning away from Him. There's real pain in these words, but also an important honesty: sometimes we have to name that we're stuck before we can truly turn back toward what matters.
