What does Jeremiah 7:28 mean?
Jeremiah is delivering a painful message to Jerusalem, describing a people who have stopped hearing God's call and refuse to learn from correction. When truth disappears from someone's words, it means they've lost touch with what's real and honest, living instead by justifications and denials. The deeper sadness here is that this disconnection from truth happens gradually, often without people realizing it. When we stop listening to God's voice (however we understand that in our own lives), we lose our anchor for what's true and false, right and wrong.
