What does Jeremiah 7:27 mean?

Jeremiah was being sent to deliver God's message to people who had already decided not to hear it. This wasn't a prediction of failure meant to discourage him, but rather a clear-eyed reality check: his faithfulness wouldn't depend on getting the response he hoped for. He was called to speak truth anyway, knowing that listening requires something from the hearer that they weren't willing to give. This can speak to anyone who's ever felt unheard or like their words fell on deaf ears. It reminds us that our responsibility is to show up and speak what we believe is true, while accepting that we can't force understanding or change someone's heart. Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is continue speaking and caring even when there's no immediate sign that it matters.
