Jeremiah 7:2
““Stand in the gate of Yahweh’s house, and proclaim this word there, and say, ‘Hear Yahweh’s word, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship Yahweh.’””
What does Jeremiah 7:2 mean?
God is sending Jeremiah to stand right at the temple entrance where crowds gather and speak directly to people as they arrive to worship. The message is urgent enough that it can't wait for a private moment, it needs to be proclaimed in public where many will hear it. What makes this striking is that Jeremiah isn't inviting people to something new, he's calling them to actually listen to what God is already saying, even though they think they're already doing the right thing by showing up. Sometimes the hardest people to reach are those who feel confident they're already following God, and that's who God is specifically asking Jeremiah to address here.
