What does Jeremiah 6:15 mean?
Jeremiah is describing a spiritual crisis where people have become so hardened in their choices that shame itself has died within them. When we lose the ability to feel conviction about wrong actions, we've crossed into dangerous territory, the prophet warns. This numbness doesn't protect us—it actually leaves us vulnerable, like a person who can't feel pain and doesn't realize they're injured. The consequence isn't arbitrary punishment but the natural result: those who refuse to turn around will eventually stumble and fall, and when God's reckoning comes, they won't be able to stand.
