What does Jeremiah 6:12 mean?
This is one of Jeremiah's hardest prophecies, spoken as Jerusalem ignored repeated warnings about its coming judgment. God is describing what happens when a nation turns away from Him persistently: the structures of daily life—home, land, family security—all become unstable and are lost. The specificity here matters. Houses, fields, and family weren't luxuries in ancient Judah; they were survival itself, passed down through generations. To lose them meant losing identity and future.
