Jeremiah 5:14
“Therefore Yahweh, the God of Armies says, “Because you speak this word, behold, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it will devour them.”
What does Jeremiah 5:14 mean?
Jeremiah is delivering a message to a rebellious people, and God is responding to their refusal to listen. He's telling Jeremiah that his words—God's words spoken through the prophet—will become like fire consuming wood, burning away the people's resistance and bringing judgment. It's a powerful image of how truth, when spoken faithfully, has unstoppable force and cannot be ignored without consequence.
