Jeremiah 45:5

What does Jeremiah 45:5 mean?
Jeremiah is speaking to Baruch, his faithful scribe, who served him through years of unpopular preaching and personal hardship. Baruch apparently felt discouraged and was wondering if all his sacrifice would lead to some reward or recognition for himself. God's response is both a gentle correction and a profound promise: stop chasing after personal success and status, because difficult times are coming for everyone around you. But here's the grace: your life will be preserved. You'll survive and escape, not because you deserve comfort, but because you've been faithful in a role that mattered even when no one was celebrating you.
