What does Jeremiah 43:2 mean?
After Jerusalem falls to Babylon, a group of Jewish refugees asks the prophet Jeremiah what God wants them to do. When Jeremiah tells them God says to stay in their land and not flee to Egypt, these leaders reject his message outright, accusing him of lying. Their refusal reveals something painfully human: we often decide what we want to do first, then dismiss any word from God (or anyone) that contradicts our plan.
