Jeremiah 35:2
““Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into Yahweh’s house, into one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink.””
What does Jeremiah 35:2 mean?
God asks Jeremiah to invite the Rechabites into the temple and offer them wine, which might seem like a simple hospitality test. The Rechabites were a group known for their strict commitment to certain practices, including refusing to drink wine, as a way of staying dedicated to God and keeping themselves separate from worldly influences.
