Jeremiah 34:4
““Yet hear Yahweh’s word, O Zedekiah king of Judah: Yahweh says concerning you, ‘You won’t die by the sword.”
What does Jeremiah 34:4 mean?
Jeremiah delivered this message to King Zedekiah during one of Judah's darkest hours, when the Babylonian army was closing in on Jerusalem. Despite the military siege and the king's very real fear of being captured and executed, God promised that Zedekiah's life would be spared from the sword, meaning he wouldn't die in battle or be killed by his enemies.
