What does Jeremiah 33:5 mean?
God is speaking through Jeremiah about the coming destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians (the Chaldeans). He's describing a grim scene where the city will be filled with casualties as a direct consequence of the people's persistent unfaithfulness. The phrase "hidden my face" means God has withdrawn his protection and blessing, which in the Bible's view is the deepest spiritual consequence of turning away from him.
