Jeremiah 28:13

What does Jeremiah 28:13 mean?
God is telling Jeremiah to deliver a hard message to a false prophet named Hananiah, who had publicly broken wooden yoke bars to symbolize that God would free Judah from Babylon's control. Rather than reversing oppression, God says, Hananiah's lie has made things worse, trading temporary wooden constraints for permanent iron ones. The image captures something painfully real: when we reject God's truth and embrace comforting falsehoods instead, we don't escape our troubles, we deepen them.
