What does Jeremiah 22:18 mean?
God is announcing that King Jehoiakim will die without honor or genuine mourning. In that culture, elaborate funeral laments from family and subjects were signs of respect and a meaningful legacy, so this prophecy cuts deep: nobody will weep for him or call out in sorrow at his passing.
