Jeremiah 22:11
“For Yahweh says touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went out of this place: “He won’t return there any more.”
What does Jeremiah 22:11 mean?
Shallum was a young king whose reign lasted only about three months before he was deposed and taken into exile by the Egyptian pharaoh. Through Jeremiah, God is announcing that this exile is permanent, that Shallum won't see his homeland again. This is a hard word, but it comes after a series of warnings that the people and their leaders ignored, so God is spelling out the consequences clearly.
