Jeremiah 17:19

Yahweh said this to me: “Go, and stand in the gate of the children of the people, through which the kings of Judah come in and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem.

What does Jeremiah 17:19 mean?

God is calling Jeremiah to position himself at the busiest, most visible places where important people pass through, because what he's about to say needs to be heard by everyone from the king down to ordinary citizens. The gates of Jerusalem were the main gathering spots where commerce happened, decisions were made, and the whole community could be reached. By standing there, Jeremiah was being placed where his message would have maximum impact and couldn't be easily ignored or confined to just one audience. This reflects how God sometimes calls us to speak truth or bear witness in public, uncomfortable ways, especially when our words matter most to people in power or positions of influence.
