Jeremiah 16:21
““Therefore behold, I will cause them to know, this once I will cause them to know my hand and my might. Then they will know that my name is Yahweh.””
What does Jeremiah 16:21 mean?
God is making a powerful promise here to Jeremiah about a turning point coming for His people. After describing judgment and exile, He's saying that through these very hard experiences, people will finally understand His character and power in a way they never have before. Sometimes it takes real consequences for us to wake up and recognize God's presence and authority in our lives, rather than ignoring Him or taking His patience for granted. The repeated "I will cause them to know" emphasizes how serious and unmistakable this moment will be, so that there's no remaining doubt about who God truly is.
