What does Jeremiah 13:1 mean?
God calls Jeremiah to do something peculiar: buy a linen belt, wear it, and keep it completely dry. This strange command was the beginning of an acted-out parable that would grab people's attention in ways words alone couldn't. The belt itself wasn't the point, but what would happen to it over time would become a powerful message about how Judah's pride and faithfulness were deteriorating before God.
