Jeremiah 11:20
“But, Yahweh of Armies, who judges righteously, who tests the heart and the mind, I will see your vengeance on them; for to you I have revealed my cause.”
What does Jeremiah 11:20 mean?
Jeremiah is pouring out his heart to God in the middle of genuine suffering, asking God to see what others can't: that his heart is right even though he's being persecuted for delivering God's message. He's not asking for petty revenge but for God to vindicate him, to prove that he's been faithful when it would have been easier to stay silent. This kind of prayer reminds us that God cares about what's happening inside us, not just what people can see on the surface, and that we can bring our pain and confusion directly to him without pretending everything is fine.
