What does Jeremiah 11:2 mean?

God is calling the prophet Jeremiah to deliver an urgent message: the people need to listen to the terms of their covenant with God and remember what they've promised to him. Jeremiah is being sent as a messenger to both the leaders and ordinary residents of Jerusalem, which tells us this isn't an exclusive message for the powerful. The covenant being referenced is the agreement between God and his people, reminding them of their responsibilities and his faithfulness. It's a call to pay attention to something that matters deeply, which feels relevant whenever we've drifted from commitments we've made or forgotten what we truly value.
