What does Isaiah 7:16 mean?

Before a young child even learns the difference between right and wrong, the political threat that's troubling you will be gone. Isaiah is telling King Ahaz that the crisis he's facing with those two enemy kingdoms won't last long, it's temporary. The point is simple: don't make desperate decisions out of fear right now, because the situation will resolve itself naturally and quickly. It's a word meant to calm someone in panic and encourage trust that God is already working in the situation.
