Isaiah 62:8
“Yahweh has sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, “Surely I will no more give your grain to be food for your enemies; and foreigners will not drink your new wine, for which you have labored;”
What does Isaiah 62:8 mean?
God is making a solemn promise here, using the strongest language possible—swearing by his own power and authority. He's telling his people that their hard work and harvest will no longer be stolen or destroyed by those who oppose them. This is meant as a word of hope to Jerusalem after exile, assuring them that a season of loss and vulnerability is ending. The promise goes beyond just physical crops; it speaks to the deeper exhaustion of having your efforts constantly taken from you. When you've worked hard only to see it stripped away, or poured yourself out only to feel like you're serving others' purposes, that cuts deep. God is saying that kind of injustice will reverse.
