Isaiah 62:10
“Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way of the people! Build up, build up the highway! Gather out the stones! Lift up a banner for the peoples.”
What does Isaiah 62:10 mean?
This passage is Isaiah's vision of restoration after exile, picturing the people's return home to Jerusalem. The repeated imperatives, create urgency and energy, as if calling out to workers preparing a great homecoming. The image moves from clearing physical obstacles (gathering stones from the road) to raising a banner that signals hope and direction to all nations watching.
