Isaiah 57:6
“Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion; they, they are your lot. You have even poured a drink offering to them. You have offered an offering. Shall I be appeased for these things?”
What does Isaiah 57:6 mean?
Isaiah is confronting people who have turned away from God to worship idols made from valley stones, treating these lifeless objects as their inheritance and security. The image of pouring drink offerings and making sacrifices to carved rocks shows how earnestly they're pursuing something utterly empty, yet they're neglecting the God who actually sustains them.
