What does Isaiah 46:4 mean?

God is promising that his faithfulness doesn't wear out as we do. Whether you're young and worried about the future, or older and wondering if anyone still cares, this verse says you remain held and sustained by the same God who made you. The repetition in the verse (I will carry, I will bear, I will carry) isn't accidental, it's meant to reassure us through sheer emphasis: this isn't a temporary commitment that expires when we get tired or gray. In the hardest seasons of life, when our own strength is clearly running out, the promise is that God's strength in caring for us never does.
