Isaiah 44:11
“Behold, all his fellows will be disappointed; and the workmen are mere men. Let them all be gathered together. Let them stand up. They will fear. They will be put to shame together.”
What does Isaiah 44:11 mean?
Isaiah is describing the futility of idolatry, comparing those who make idols to each other and to the God of Israel. The "fellows" and "workmen" are the craftspeople and merchants invested in creating and selling false gods, and their shared anxiety reveals their own uncertainty about what they're promoting.
