What does Isaiah 43:16 mean?

God is reminding his people of his greatest rescue: when he parted the Red Sea and led them out of slavery in Egypt. By calling back to that moment, he's saying something powerful about who he is and what he's capable of doing. He's essentially telling them, "I'm the God who can move mountains and part oceans—and I'm about to do something remarkable for you again." When we're facing situations that feel impossible or blocked off, this verse invites us to remember that God has a track record of creating pathways where none seemed to exist.
