What does Isaiah 36:20 mean?
The Assyrian king's commander is taunting the people of Jerusalem, essentially saying, "Look at all the nations I've conquered, and look at their gods—none of them could save their people from me, so what makes you think your God will be any different?" It's a challenge meant to shake their faith and convince them to surrender without a fight.
