Hosea 8:12
“I wrote for him the many things of my law; but they were regarded as a strange thing.”
What does Hosea 8:12 mean?
God had given Israel clear instruction through the law, writing out His expectations and wisdom for how they should live. Yet despite having these teachings right in front of them, the people treated them as if they were bizarre, foreign ideas rather than treasured guidance. It's a picture of someone rejecting help they desperately need, almost refusing to recognize good when it's offered. The heartbreak in these words comes from God doing everything to make His way known, only to have it dismissed or ignored.
