Hosea 11:7
“My people are determined to turn from me. Though they call to the Most High, he certainly won’t exalt them.”
What does Hosea 11:7 mean?
When people turn away from God even while going through the motions of faith, something real breaks in the relationship. Hosea is describing a stubborn people who keep drifting away from God's care, yet still call out to him in crisis, hoping for rescue without actually returning to him. God won't pretend the distance isn't there or reward half-hearted faith by lifting them up as if nothing changed. There's profound sadness in these words, not because God won't forgive, but because the people themselves have already decided to leave, and you can't genuinely receive help from someone you've turned your back on.
