Hosea 10:15
“So Bethel will do to you because of your great wickedness. At daybreak the king of Israel will be destroyed.”
What does Hosea 10:15 mean?
Bethel, once a sacred place where God met with Jacob, had become a center of false worship and idolatry in the northern kingdom of Israel. God, through the prophet Hosea, is saying that the very religious corruption happening there will bring their downfall. The warning about the king being destroyed at daybreak is both literal (pointing to real military defeat) and symbolic of how quickly judgment can come, turning what seemed stable and powerful into ruin in just moments. This is Hosea's way of telling a people who had turned away from God that their choices have consequences they can't escape. It's a hard message, but it comes from a place of divine love trying to wake them up to reality before it's too late.
