Hosea 10:13

What does Hosea 10:13 mean?
God is using a farming metaphor here to show how our choices create consequences we can't escape. When you plant seeds of wickedness and injustice, you will inevitably harvest exactly what you've sown, not something better. The people Hosea addressed had built their confidence on military power and their own cunning rather than on trusting God, and that misplaced trust led them deeper into deception and harm. The "fruit of lies" they're eating represents the bitter reality that catches up with them. It's not that God punishes them arbitrarily, but that living by dishonesty and self-reliance naturally produces a harvest of pain and brokenness. The point isn't to condemn but to gently show cause and effect: if we keep trusting our own strength while ignoring what's right, we shouldn't be surprised when everything falls apart.
