What does Hebrews 6:18 mean?
God made a promise to Abraham and backed it with an oath, two things that cannot change. Because God's character is such that he cannot lie, these twin guarantees give us something rock-solid to hold onto when life feels uncertain. The writer is telling people facing hardship that when you've turned to God for protection (fled for refuge), you can grip that hope firmly because it rests on the unchanging nature of God himself.
