Hebrews 4:10
“For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.”
What does Hebrews 4:10 mean?
When we stop striving and truly trust God, we experience a kind of rest that's deeper than just physical tiredness going away. The writer is saying that just as God completed his work of creation and rested on the seventh day, we can enter into a spiritual rest by ceasing our anxious efforts to earn God's favor or fix everything ourselves. This doesn't mean being lazy, but rather finding peace in believing that God's work on our behalf is complete and sufficient. For many of us carrying the weight of trying to be perfect or constantly prove our worth, this invitation to rest in God's finished work can be profoundly healing.
