What does Hebrews 3:10 mean?
God is expressing deep disappointment with the Israelites who wandered in the desert after leaving Egypt. Their hearts kept turning away from him, pulling them toward doubt and disobedience, even though they'd witnessed his miracles firsthand. The tragedy wasn't that they occasionally stumbled, but that they refused to truly know God's character, his faithfulness, or the way he wanted to lead them forward. This passage reminds us that knowing about God is different from knowing him, and that choosing to close our hearts to his guidance grieves him because he's always working for our good.
