What does Hebrews 2:16 mean?

The writer is reminding us that Jesus came in human form, not as an angel, because he came to help us. His incarnation—becoming one of us—shows that his rescue mission was always meant for humanity. The phrase "offspring of Abraham" is the writer's way of saying all of us who trust in God and follow in Abraham's faith, which includes people from every background and nation. This is a comfort when we wonder if God really sees us or cares about our struggles: Jesus himself became human to demonstrate that we matter to him.
