What does Hebrews 12:13 mean?
When we live with integrity and choose the direct, honest path, we create safety for ourselves and those around us. The image here is of someone with a weak or injured leg, and how they desperately need clear, straight ground to walk on, not twisted, obstacle-filled terrain. If we're constantly cutting corners, being dishonest, or creating chaos in our relationships and choices, we're essentially leaving obstacles everywhere, making it harder for vulnerable people to navigate life. By contrast, living straightforwardly and faithfully gives everyone, especially those already struggling, the best chance to heal and find their footing. This is both about personal integrity and about how our choices ripple outward to help or harm those we're connected to.
