What does Hebrews 11:22 mean?

Joseph spent his entire life in Egypt, rising from enslaved prisoner to the most powerful man in the kingdom, yet he never forgot God's promise that his descendants would return to their own land. As he lay dying, he spoke of this future exodus with such conviction that he instructed his family to carry his bones with them when they left Egypt, generations later. This wasn't superstition or pessimism, but a profound trust that God would actually do what he promised, even if Joseph wouldn't live to see it. His faith in God's word was so real that it shaped how he wanted to be remembered and what he left behind for those who came after him.
