What does Hebrews 10:25 mean?
The writer of Hebrews is encouraging believers not to drift away from gathering with their faith community, something apparently some people were tempted to do. He frames this as mutual encouragement, not obligation, since when we gather with others walking the same spiritual path, we strengthen and inspire each other in ways that happen best face-to-face. The final phrase, "as you see the Day approaching," suggests the early Christians believed Jesus's return was imminent and felt that kind of urgency should draw them closer together, not push them apart. For us today, the principle still holds: showing up for each other, especially during uncertain or difficult times, matters more than we might realize.
