Haggai 2:6

What does Haggai 2:6 mean?
God is promising that He will shake everything, and He means it literally and symbolically. In Haggai's time, the Jewish people had recently returned from exile and were rebuilding the temple, feeling small and discouraged about what they could accomplish. This message told them that God hasn't abandoned His plans, and that He still controls all of creation. The "shaking" represents a dramatic turning point, a moment when God will act decisively to restore what matters and remove what doesn't. For the first readers, it was both a warning to those resisting God's purposes and an encouragement to those doing the faithful work of rebuilding.
