Habakkuk 2:8
“Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples will plunder you, because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all who dwell in it.”
What does Habakkuk 2:8 mean?
Habakkuk is speaking a hard truth to someone who has gotten rich through theft and cruelty: what you've taken from others will eventually be taken from you. The prophet is saying that violence and exploitation don't go unnoticed or unpunished, even if it takes time for consequences to arrive. This resonates across centuries because we all know deep down that injustice leaves a trail.
