What does Habakkuk 2:10 mean?
When someone builds wealth or power by exploiting and harming many others, they're actually destroying their own home and integrity, even if they don't realize it yet. The prophet is pointing out a painful irony: the schemes that seem clever in the moment—cheating entire communities to gain advantage—end up poisoning the very household and life you're trying to protect. You can't wrong countless people without damaging something essential inside yourself. This is less about God punishing you from outside and more about the natural consequence of living by exploitation: shame and spiritual ruin follow, no matter how successful things might look on the surface.
