Genesis 48:13
“Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near to him.”
What does Genesis 48:13 mean?
Joseph is arranging his two sons in front of his aging father Jacob so they can receive his blessing. By placing Ephraim (the younger son) on Jacob's right side and Manasseh (the older son) on his left, Joseph is positioning them in what he assumes is the proper order of importance, with the firstborn getting the place of honor.
