What does Genesis 45:1 mean?
Joseph has been hiding his identity from his brothers for years, testing them to see if they've changed since they betrayed him long ago. In this moment, after seeing genuine remorse and witnessing how they now treat their younger brother Benjamin (the one they once might have harmed), something breaks open in Joseph's heart. He can't hold back the tears and emotion anymore, so he clears the room and reveals who he really is.
