What does Genesis 44:28 mean?
Jacob is speaking here about his beloved son Joseph, whom he believed was dead for years. When Joseph was actually sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, they told their father that a wild animal had killed him, and Jacob had grieved that loss ever since.
