Genesis 39:2
“Yahweh was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. He was in the house of his master the Egyptian.”
What does Genesis 39:2 mean?
Even in slavery, Joseph experienced God's presence in a deeply practical way. His master Potiphar noticed that everything Joseph touched seemed to succeed, so he put Joseph in charge of his entire household, which was an extraordinary position of trust for a foreign slave. The point here isn't that Joseph got rich or comfortable, but that God's faithfulness was real and visible even when Joseph was far from home, stripped of his family, and trapped in circumstances completely beyond his control. Sometimes blessing doesn't mean escape from hard situations, but rather experiencing God's steady presence and favor right in the middle of them.
