What does Genesis 37:15 mean?

Joseph has been sent by his father Jacob to check on his older brothers, who are tending sheep in Dothan. But Joseph gets lost along the way, and this stranger stops him to help. It's a small moment that feels almost ordinary, yet it sets the entire story in motion, because this man directs Joseph toward his brothers, who then sell him into slavery. Sometimes the smallest encounters shape our futures in ways we can't see at the time. Joseph didn't know this conversation would lead to his being separated from his family for years, but it also didn't know it would eventually lead him to become a powerful leader in Egypt and, ultimately, to save his family from famine. When you're wandering and lost, unsure of what comes next, remember that God can work through the kindness of strangers and through circumstances that seem random or even painful at the moment.
