Genesis 33:13
“Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.”
What does Genesis 33:13 mean?
Jacob is asking Esau to slow down and be patient with him on their journey, and he's giving a practical reason why. His children are young and can't walk as fast as grown men, and his animals are nursing mothers and newborns who would collapse if pushed too hard for a full day. What's touching here is that Jacob, who once deceived his brother out of his birthright, is now being honest and vulnerable.
