What does Genesis 29:27 mean?

Laban is making a deal with Jacob after discovering his nephew worked seven years expecting to marry Rachel, only to be tricked into marrying her older sister Leah instead. He's offering Jacob a way forward: complete the wedding festivities for Leah (which lasted a week in that culture), and then he can marry Rachel too, but it will cost him another seven years of labor. It's a harsh bargain that shows Jacob the consequences of his own deception earlier in his life, yet he agrees because his love for Rachel is that strong. This moment captures how our choices can put us in difficult positions, and sometimes the path forward requires patience and sacrifice we didn't anticipate.
