What does Genesis 28:1 mean?

Isaac is giving his son Jacob an important send-off before he leaves home. He blesses Jacob and then gives him a clear instruction: don't marry any of the Canaanite women around them. This wasn't just about preference, but about keeping the family line connected to their faith and covenant with God. The Canaanites practiced very different religions and ways of life, so Isaac wanted Jacob to marry someone who shared their beliefs and values. It's a practical way of saying that who we choose to build our life with matters deeply, especially when faith is at the center of who we are.
